Process planning for micromilling on knee endoprostheses
In the SIIRI project, we are developing an innovative method for monitoring the wear of knee endoprostheses in vivo. For this purpose, we use X-ray markers that are inserted into microcavities on the implant surface. You will develop an iterative methodology for tool path planning for the precise production of these cavities. You will plan the tool path in the CAM programme, simulate the material removal and adjust the path. The work will provide you with valuable insights into adaptive manufacturing processes and the development of innovative implants.
You will support us with:
- Automation of the Siemens NX CAM programme
- Simulation of planned tool paths using the institute's own simulation programme
- Development of a process model and an adaptation methodology
Ideally you have:
- Previous knowledge of programming (Matlab, Phython or C#)
- Interest in the production of implants
- Good knowledge of German or very good knowledge of English
