In the Cutting and Grinding Technology departments, we research basic and application-oriented issues in tool and process development. One focus is the experimental and simulative analysis of the mechanisms of action in the chip formation zone in grinding and cutting processes. Furthermore, we have competences in the production of cutting and grinding tools in order to design them optimally for the respective application.
